Steering Committee Issues:
1. Review multimedia presentation - Duane showed a 7 minute power point presentation for use in informing non-profits, businesses and the general public about 20/20 goals and objectives.
2. Review and assign non-profit speaking list. A list of non-profits was reviewed and committee members assigned to contact prior to February 14 meeting. See addendum.
3. Chamber expo and 20/20 free breakfast update provided by Rita. Date is 3-18-06 at ROCORI High School. Ken and Nadine are organizing. Invitations will be sent out in about 2 days. The 7- Minute presentation will run all day for viewing. It was mentioned that there would be a meeting with non-profits the first part of February to provide information. Expo cost is $25 a table for non-profits; chamber businesses $40; non-chamber businesses $60.
4. Intern update - Mike presented a summary of information received as a result of the survey. He completed 4; 11 had wrong email addresses, phoned them for new addresses; reviewed with previous survey; stated had contacts at school who could translate our printed material; brought a 12 minutes Farmers Market video. (Didn’t take time to review today)
5. Brigetta presented a Farmers Market update. Nine people attended her meeting 50% residents and 50% producers; potential commercial on Cable; would be on Wednesdays at Lions Park; would start first of June through October; is applying for grant; perhaps 20/20 could co-sponsor; has an intern from St. John's. It was decided that this task force would live under the Tourism Committee.
Committee updates:
1. Art & Culture: Betty informed the group that Bob Thelen was interested in the Opera House, investigated buying it and donating it to the city but his plans fell through. The Co-op is using presently. He would still like to be involved.
