I. Securing Funding for Feasibility Report
Larry reminded the group that the Feasibility Report will cost $14,800. Cold Spring has approved spending $7,400 on the study and will add $5,000 from their Healthy Communities Partnership grant. This leaves us $2,400 short. Rena and Linda indicated that Rockville might be willing to fund half of the short fall, $1,200. Linda will ask the Park Board at their next meeting. Dan will mention it to Richmond City Council at their meeting on the 19th. Pete also suggested that we could ask the county to fund the $2,400 short fall. Pete stated the county is studying corridors from Co. Rd 6 (where Rocori Trail is proposed to end) to Waite Park and areas in St. Joseph. Linda mentioned Tim Gross, Rockville resident has ideas on alternate routes in the Rockville area. The engineer working on the Feasibility Study should talk with him.
II. Grant Application Update
A. Update from Heidi Peper – Heidi stated Stearns County approved the sponsorship of our Transportation Enhancement Grant application. The application is due to MN DOT’s Baxter office by 1/13. The group talked about a variety of support letters that could be included with the application. Heidi stated she would need them by 1/10 in order for them to be included with the application.
B. County Parks’ Ability to Support at TAC Meeting – Heidi will call Chuck Wocken regarding this.
III. Railroad Update – Pete Theismann
No new news to report.
